Buses from Piarco International Airport with Bus Routes and Times
Upon arrival at Piarco International Airport (POS), passengers can choose from several ground transportation services, including rental cars, taxis, hotel shuttle services, and buses.
Transportation services from the POS to the city are accessible via buses for at least TT$ 4.00. The airport is about 27 kilometers from the capital city of Port-of-Spain.
The currency of the island is indicated by a dollar sign or TT$ to distinguish it from other dollar currencies.
When going to places outside of the tourist centers, you'll want to take TT$. But in areas with a high concentration of tourists, the US$ is usually accepted.
As of this update, conversion stands at 1.00 US$ = 6.79 TT$. All figures quoted on this page refer to the Trinidad and Tobago dollar (TT$) unless otherwise specified.
Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC)
There is a daily bus service from Piarco International Airport to Port-of-Spain. Passengers can hop on the bus at Bay No. 4 of the Airport Ground Transportation Center for TT$ 4.00 to downtown.
Tickets are at the terminal grounds and City Gate in Port of Spain (formerly the Trinidad Government Railway headquarters). Passengers can also buy the tickets at a ticket booth and show them to the driver.
The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) is the sole operator of bus transportation in the island.
The fares vary with distance, and the buses are color-coded.
The blue-and-white buses are regular units, while the red-and-white are express commuter buses.
The blue buses are generally more expensive, make fewer stops, and are more comfortable.
